Whoa! Look! Connecticut cashiered Joe Lieberman!

I have never voted for Lieberman, going all the way back to when he was CT state Attorney General, in the early 80's. The guy stinks of bullshit, and I'm utterly delighted he lost the primary.

CT is a liberal state, but not as liberal as you may think. There's a certain degree of pragmatism, here, due to our small size and boom-bust local economy. Regardless of the war, etc., there's the nagging issue of Lieberman's senatorial seniority, which is undeniably beneficial for CT in the time of a republican-controlled government. Lamont can't boast of any seniority, or even state level experience.

When push comes to shove, in the 3-way election which is to come, Joe may get re-elected if he manages to hammer home the point that CT can ill afford to part with his 17 years of experience and influence on Capitol Hill.

I honestly don't think that Lamont brings much depth to the table, so I am hoping that the Green Party fields their candidate. This way, I won't have to hold my nose and vote for Lamont.

I agree with you substantively about Joe getting re-elected. I actually don't think that Lamont stands much of a chance in a 3-way election, prrecisely because I don't think it's actually as liberal as, say, its' democratic primary voters are.

And although I agree with you about Lamont's relative depth (except on the war, i think he's entirely uninspiring), I can't really get behind voting Green at this point either. Have you payed any attention to what's going on with the Green Party candidate in the PA Senate race?
